We had a great turn-out for week 1 of Maker Camp. To get things started, we worked on putting together a paper Makey Robot and some of us even added wheels to give him some motion. And, of course, jaunty caps.
Our main project of the night was Heron’s Fountain to demonstrate the laws of fluid dynamics. The fountains were definitely a project that required collaboration between kids and mentors, but everyone was able to complete a working fountain. I found this video to be quite helpful in terms of understanding the forces at work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv9JrnnZkLA

Definitely looking forward to Week 2!
